I mean, some of you spend hours answering just one question. are you that caring? do you not have anyone to care for, so you find someone to care for, even you don't know the other person? are you that bored? what the heck do you get out of it?

Depending on the question, if i have some knowledge or advice someone needs, then I like to share it. I have a big family that I care for, by the way, but I do like to take time out and help someone, if possible. I also like to answer deliberately dumb questions just to let the asker know how stupid they are. It goes both ways, and I get 2 points regardless.

I've never seen an answer that takes hours to type. I mean if your that slow at typing that it takes you hours to type out a little paragraph then maybe this isn't the place for you to be. Why do people sit down for HOURS and sometimes days a time playing video games that is going to get them absolutely no where?? It's for entertainment. I prefer being here helping people and answering questions that I actually do have answers for and helping people out. Sometimes people on here don't have anywhere else to turn or anyone else to talk to. Some questions are to embarrassing to go to friends or family so they come here to be anonymous.

Well, I've thrown my back out, and even when I can travel there's nothing to do out in the country where I live. So, when I'm not writing my novel (a VERY rough sample of which can be read at www.myspace.com/thedavezone in the blog section), I'm usually here because there's nothing else to do and nowhere else to go.
I have a great deal of knowledge, and it's nice to have some people that actually listen to me for a change.

It is about feeling important for someone who has an honest question.
It is about seeing what others think... social community function.
It is about not having anything better to do for a few days.
It is about learning from others and testing your knowledge.
It is about seeing how stupid American kids are who can't spell, write, think or even know the questions let alone the answers..
Number 40 in the world of Education!!! not surprised.

When we answer someones question,we get only 2 points. But the person who asked the question get some thing you can't value with points. This is a great thing yahoo is doing to help someone who need our help to solve their problems. If you don't understand that,You are not suitable to be a human.Every one has important things to do,We answer questions not because we have nothing to do,But to help somebody.

Because I care and I think I can help people who really need it. My children have grown and left and I did a really good job as a father. I don't usually answer the silly ones but I think you have a good point.

Why not? What's the big deal? Maybe just one answer I give might make a difference and help some one. Maybe it wont. It'll it just make someone consider what I've said. It doesn't matter. It's important to help out when ever you can!!
