Ahem.
I am not brainwashed, delusional, or ignorant. I am not a Republican, I am not legalistic, I am smart enough to rise above indoctrination, I do not believe in a "magical sky daddy," I am NOT motivated by fear, and I do not obey everything my pastor says. I don't even have a pastor. Please don't assume the fact that I still believe means I've never questioned or reevaluated my beliefs. My life is a process of questioning and reevaluation.
I am an intelligent, well-educated woman who happens to believe in God. I have no problem finding truth outside of empiricism. If you are a rationalist, more power to you. I will respect your views even if we don't agree.
I know many would balk at this, but I consider myself a free-thinker and open-minded, even though I'm a Christian. Most my non-Christian contacts who have come to know me would agree.
The moral of the story is: you can't judge based on a label. Even if stereotypes are true 99% of the time, you're still ignoring that 1%.

I am Catholic and I do not know where to begin. We do not worship the Pope, we also do not worship the Virgin Mary. We do not think the Pope is sinless, although we do think the Virgin Mary was and is. A tiny fraction of priests have done some horrible things but that is not the same thing as being part of, or condoned by, our faith. Catholicism has no objection to science, this includes evolution, biology, and archeology. Catholics did not add books to the Bible. Catholics are not forbidden to read and study the Bible.
I could go on and on.

That it is a Mythology. Just because a bunch of English speaking fair skinned people of the West can't seem to wrap their mind around my religion. Doesn't make it a Mythology.
I don't really care what they think. They could be wrong about their religion for all i know.
I know several people of the West have found solace in Hinduism and brought shame upon it. Especially, during the Hippie Movement.
I also personally know a family from the U.S that are far more learned in Hinduism than i am.
I will never forget the way tears welled in my eyes, when he spoke of the Love between Krsna and Radha. I could feel the love, from the way he narrated the story to me.

I'm a Christian and I'd like to clarify that, "The Christian life is far more than creeds and convictions. It includes conduct and character." (I'm pretty sure that's from Rick Warren's, "Purpose Driven Life.") I'd also like to remind everyone that not all Christians are the same. There are a lot more of us than people realize who truly DO respect the beliefs of others and won't push our faith in their faces. NOT all of us with thump you over the head with our Bibles or tell you you're going to go to Hell because you've had sex before marriage or are homosexual. It's not our place to do so. Christians are called to love everyone just as Christ did...and that means EVERYONE. However, not all Christians got that memo, so yes there ARE some that behave/act in ways that are extremely hurtful to those around them. However, PLEASE understand that there are those of us who truly love others for WHO they are and NOT they way they live their lives.

Nothing. There are many stereotypes and misconceptions about my religion that are quite negative. However, I see the belief in this misinformation as empowering in a certain way. I enjoy it. It's funny.

We believe in Jesus Christ. We feel we believe in him as outlined in the Bible. However, many other Christians claim that we don't. We revere Christ and believe that he is the Savior of the world.
Would be nice if other Christians would accept the fact that we do believe in Christ; even if it is not the same way they do, we Mormons do not go about claiming other Christians are non-christian because they don't believe in him the way we do.
