Depends on what you are trying to remember.
If you want to remember a list of things, try to make a sentence using the first letter of the things. Like My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pies
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune Pluto.

Make a game out of what ever you need to remember

You can make up silly riddles or things like PEMDAS as abbreviations to help you remember things. If youre trying to remember names, say you know a guy named Mark, you can remember his name by picturing a big Mark on his face!
Writing things on your hands works too :)

Write things down, say stuff over in your head and also try to associate something else with what you are trying to remember.

Memory works just like a muscle - it needs to be exercised, and it needs to be the types of things you want to remember.

If there's something I need to remember to do, I put my watch, or my cell phone on the opposite side of my body - it feels foreign there, and I am constantly reminded that there's something that needs my attention.

Associate what you want to remember with other words that are of common use to you. In any event, use association of some sort which is the easiest way.

A lot of people associate when they learn a new fact.
Example. You meet a new guy. His name is Bill Smith. You imagine that his nose is big like a bird's bill and he looks big and rough like a blacksmith.
If you do this with other things it reinforces the memory.
Good luck.
