Do people overuse the word "amazing"? It seems as though someone is always asking "What camera takes amazing pictures" or "I took an amazing animal picture" or "I'm an amazing photographer..." . Could we have a moratorium on using "amazing" for a couple of weeks?

Note to Vince M. I'll use my points as I wish. This question didn't cost you any points did it? Infact, you earned 2 by answering.

Sounds like a fine idea.

And while we're at it, it would also be nice if contributors started using English instead of psycho-babble.

And Spell Check!

There are many questions here - posted by people much younger than I, I'm sure - that are simply unreadable.

I'd like to help. I really would ... but using text messaging shorthand makes it difficult for some of us who actually have some experience and knowledge to understand what you're asking.

Sorry for this rant. But, good grief! If you really want someone to voluntarily take their time to help you with your questions ... Please! At least have the courtesy to ask in an intelligible way.

Now THAT, Edwin, would be truly AMAZING!

I find it amazing that someone would waste points by posting this as a question.

I thought long and hard about my usage of this word, in my response.

Trust me, that is the EXACT word I needed to express my feeling. "Unbelievable?" No, not right. I believe people on this forum capable of doing some pretty lame behaviors. "Aghast?" Nope. I don't feel that strongly. "Astounding?" Maybe, but not any better than "Amazing."

"Radical?" Nah!

"Brilliant?" Not hardly!

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?" Now, THAT'S just plain silly!

yes, now you mention it. People do overuse the word amazing. In fact, it's amazing how many times we use it, isn't it?
