Read the New York Times (liberal) or Wall Street Journal (conservative). Read current non-fiction or classic fiction. Do crossword puzzles. Join a book club. Take nature walks on a warm autumn afternoon. Play bridge or chess.

Take a class in something- ANYTHING-ballroom dancing, juggling, cooking, boat building, anything you've never done before, even if it's just reading a different newspaper every day. If you're feeling really brave, maybe pick something you never thought you'd like.

Anything that makes you use your brain in a new way should do the trick!

rubik's cube, do some creative artwork, painting, drawing, music, these are also used as healing modality for calming the emotion
