Eve would not have had to procreate with anyone but Adam - being that "close to perfect" meant that their DNA had the FULL expression of all human possibility. Their sons, on the other hand, would have taken wives from their sisters, as being one step removed from "perfect" their DNA was still so complete that "incest" would not have resulted in aberrant births. Think of it like this: you have a perfect CD, and you "burn" it to a blank CD, resulting in slightly decreased quality, and then you "burn" that copy to another, with continuing reduction of quality every time you make a new "generation". Then you copy your hundreth CD to analog tape, and then make tape copies - the further you get from the original, perfect "Source" the worse your recordings are. Adam and Eve and their immediate family were so close to perfect that deformation, retardation, and disease proclivity were not yet a result of brothers and sisters marrying. Also, most of this *was* in the Bible - in the Book of Jubilees and Apocrypha - until Constantine's Nicene Council voted to throw out half the written Gospels and only keep others in order to control the *new* religion. These *missing* Books surfaced in the last century and are now known as the Dead Sea Scrolls.

The counseller was right but your thinking is all wrong. The abuser did not know God and the abuser followed the evil works of Satan the devil. Satan was created by God as a great light bearer and perfect as far as angels go, but Satan rebelled against God. The Bible nor any other historical literature of value mentions Eve having sexual relations with her sons or daughters. Adam lived 930 years and had 33 sons and 23 daughters if Josephus the historian of antiquities
is accurate. Their sons and daughters married each other because the genes were pure and not cursed with mutations as our genes are today.

I'm sorry you were abused. God gives no one the right to abuse another. A lot of things mentioned in the Bible are what man did and it doesn't mean God approved of it. Throughout the Bible the accuracy of the portrayal of the evil of men is shown many times. God does judge men. God has laws and we are told not to break them because if we do there are consequences. God is the Judge and your abuser will be judged by God. God will judge the judges of this earth especially those who do not favor life. God does favor life, because God is life.

Genesis 5 says .."and Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters.."
Try to wrap your mind around this. People lived 600 years before they got married .Cain could have been 600 when he killed Abel for all we know.In the meantime some of his sisters and nieces could be 400 or 500 .Of course at first they had to marry within the family. That was not incest, there was no one else.By the time Cain married, there could have been thousands of people on the earth. He did NOT bang his Mom.In fact it was still common in Abraham's day .He married his 1/2 sister. God did not change the law until the time of Moses. That is when the gene pool got watered down.

Eve most certainly did not have intercourse with one or any of her children. That idea is no where to be found in the Bible.
In those early times, the gene pool was cleaner, so brother/sister marriages occured. Later, God gave laws forbidding marriages between close relatives, with only one exception- that of marriages between cousins.
The counselor has NO way to determine whether or not the devil was in someone...it may well have been and most likely was just that person acting on his own sinful human nature's desires.

Eve didn't have sex with her son...first time ive ever heard someone say so!!
but as for all the previous answers regarding incest between Adam and Eve's sons and daughters that to me is a load of old tosh....As a Pentecostal Christian i believe that God made quite a few human beings after Adam and Eve had children and they are who Adam and Eve's sons and daughters married, theyre not in the Bible because they're not as important as they didn't originate from Adam and Eve.

Where do you get that Eve had sex with one of her sons? That is not in the Bible. If you read Genesis 4 &5 you will see that Eve only bore children to her husband Adam. She had multiple other children, besides Cain, Able and Seth. They had children together. This later became uneccesary as the population grew and you were able to marry those outside of your family, but still within your religious group. Don't know why you think Eve slept with her sons, but she didn't. I am sorry for what happened to you. It is wrong for others to force themselves upon us. I was never sexually abused, but I was raped and it is a terrible thing to feel as though you have no power to control the things that are happening to you. My rape resulted in a pregnancy, so I was able to turn that terrible thing into a good thing. It resulted in a child that I love and cherish. I am not saying that what happend to you has anything good in it, but perhaps you can use it for good. Reach out to others, share your story, help others to know what to look for and that they (the child) are not responsible or to blame for what has happened to them. You are in a weak state right now and it will take a while before you feel safe again, but you will be stronger in the end. I will keep you in my prayers and I hope that your attacker has been dealt with by the full force of the law. He will pay for what he did to you. The Bible says in Matthew 18:6 "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." Then in Mt 18:10 "Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which isin heaven." and in Mt 18:14, "Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish."
I will pray for your healing and ask that God comfort you in your time of need.

Well, I was raised Lutheran but I don't believe in such a literal translation of the Genesis story. I also believe in evolution and love this earth, and I think the genesis story is an analogy in terms people could understand 2000 years ago. I think we evolved from a homonid ancestor.

I'm sorry to hear about your abuse experience - I don't know whether it's as simple as that guy having the devil in him. He's obviously screwed up for a lot of reasons. He'll get his someday.

I'm interested to see how people who take Genesis literally answer this question :-)

What happened to you is so wrong and I hope in time it will heal. This counsellor lied to you.. Eve did not have relations with her own son...she had a partner Adam...and if you remember Eve convinced Adam to sin...would you also then assume therefore that God made that happen?...God created man and woman and they have a brain and decide to do what they want...good and evil...

If you are a non believer why are you so ineterested in this anyway...look within

you realize you according to hazard suited, it rather is impossible to renowned for particular whether the Bible is reality or not. besides the indisputable fact that, are you able to truly arise with the money for to be incorrect? I advise, i'm extremely sensible. i might even prefer to think of i'm slightly extra sensible than the difficulty-loose individual. besides the indisputable fact that, i've got faith contained in the Bible for one common reason: If given the alternative between believing contained in the bible and being incorrect (wherein case you lose not something, yet benefit not something), or not believing contained in the Bible and being incorrect (wherein case you get solid into burning wonderful torment continually), it form of feels the logical answer is glaring. i might particularly have faith and probability dropping not something than not have faith and probability eternal damnation. I do agree that a individual might could be fairly nearsighted to take each know the Bible actually. (i don't see to many human beings spreading lamb's blood over their doors at Easter). i would not say that Atheists are extra sensible on difficulty-loose than any non secular individual. i understand some fairly sensible Christians and that i understand some extremely stupid Atheists. yet contained in the tip, it is not important if the Bible is fictional or not. What does rely is which you take care of alternative human beings with appreciate in spite of perception. that's what maximum non secular texts are approximately besides and that i'm hoping which you do not have faith that message is fictional.
