Like the 1st responder, WATER, WATER, WATER! It helps push the garbage from your bowels, avoid the junk drinks (sodas, artificially flavored bevs), and get veggies and fruits in your diet. If you are sedentary, excercise really gets your bowels regulated, even power walking. How long has this been a headache? Does it come and go? I ask because being an active, water drinker, veggie/fruit lover, I began to have constipation episodes, come and go ever so often. I decided to go the dr., I was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), no cure, but a problem. So....I excercise regularly, ensure fiber intake, (prunes at desk, green veggies 4X week, take a casacada sagrada pill to cleanse colon every weeks during weekends when off from work). I monitor any flare ups, but I've been issue free for 6 months. If after doing the above for 2 weeks you are still constipated, please see a dr. to get a full diagnosis. Best wishes, friend!

Prune juice is not that nice, but have you tried blackcurrant juice? This tastes a lot nicer, is healthy and full of vitamin C. Give that a go. You could also try some Metamucil or Benefiber. If not, chew on a whole packet of gum. If you read the back, some say that excess consumption may have a laxative effect.
If all else fails go to the Dr and they will prescribe something for you to help. Even go to the chemist and ask if they have any over the counter preparations that may be of benefit. Try to relax though as it could make it worse and drink plenty of water too.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Drink prune juice daily or eat prunes daily. Take a fiber supplement like metamucil or benefiber 2 times a day, If your stools are hard take colace aka docusate 2 times daily. Sit on the toilet every day after you eat breakfast for about 5 minutes whether you go or not to try to get your bowels trained. If by the third day you haven't had a decent BM then use a suppository.

Avoid castor oil - it's one of the most stomach-cramping remedies out there. The quickest and least side-effecting/addictive treatments are the ones that go direct to the source of the problem - Sugastac was right, take an enema or a suppository (depending on how long you've suffered and how "full of s hit" you think you are)

I dont know what you may have tried already but you can try drinking really warm prune juice, hot tea and you can also try using a Fleets enema or Soap suds enema. You can try a suppository to see if that helps. If you try these things and you still havent had a BM depending on how many days its been you will need to go see your Doc asap. Hope this helps and good luck

cut back on dairy. Drink apple juice and lots of fluids like water, add fiber to your diet, a high fiber cereal, works great. If you are still contipated get some of those fiber graham crackers, taste good and will help with the constipation.

Castor oil will help like no other. You could drink a tablespoon of it, and that will do it, but you could also do a poultice. Soak a towel with the stuff and put it on your stomach. The oil will be messy, but you'll be on the toilet for an hour poopin' everything you've got in you.
But the good old stand-by of water will help. Good luck!

1) eat a salad twice a day - fiber helps move food through the intestine
2) drink a couple of cups of water a day
3) use the bathroom 15-20 minutes after you eat a large meal. that's when the urge is the strongest. waiting will decrease the urge
4) walk
