Myth 1: Black boxes are indestructible - wrong, they're not, they smash apart as easily as anything else its just that they're packaged and stored carefully so that people can ascertain what happened to a plane after it crashed. They still put several of these flight data recorders on each plane because in the crash one or more may be destroyed.
Myth 2: They're black. They ain't. They come in day-glo orange and green. makes it much easier to pick them up when there has been an air disaster.
Myth 3: If there WERE an 'indestructible' material, making a plane of it would be safe. It wouldn't. If the plane fell out of the sky maybe it wouldn't break apart and throw you in to the ground at 300mph, maybe it would hold together and throw you in to the side of the plane at 300mph - is that really so much more preferable?

It wouldn't fly, and if it were designed in a way that it could fly, the fuel consumption would be enormous, making it implausible as a form of travel. Also the wings have to have some sort of give, they have to be much more elastic than the material the black box is made out of, because if it were too stiff(hard and brittle) the oscillations caused by turbulence would snap them off.

Did you ask Seinfeld to use this idea, because he said it on a show some ten years ago, be careful my friend....cheaters always get caught.
Next thing you know, you will ask why parachutists use a helmet??

Because the plane would never leave the ground due to its weight.

If this were the 'bad comedians' section, this would be a drinking question.

It'd be too heavy to fly and/or your ticket would cost $6,000.
