The first one to say :"faith with evidence is better" get slapped. Isn't that defeating the whole purpose of faith? Why not just go on evidence alone then?

Only the faith that God gives is good.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

So slap me.
The definition of faith is mis-understood.
Christendom has put out a definition that basically means pie-in-the-sky wishing.
Truth is:
Faith comes AFTER knowledge, or, as Romans 10:17 says: "Faith follows......" It doesn't lead!
So, are all kinds of faith good?
Not necessarily.
If I studied how to become a mass murderer, took in knowledge of how to kill many at one time and became confident it would indeed work ......I'd have faith, but for a bad cause.
Ouch!

Faith in that which is good and right is certainly better than having faith in something wicked or false.

In the Old Testament, the people who had faith in the false idols to take care of their problems always got slapped down. The ones who had steadfast faith in God were justly rewarded.

Not all faith is good, some people put their faith on material things, feeling secure in things that will fade some day...

Take care

The kind of faith that is "good" is the faith that believes God, and takes Him at His Word. ("Abraham believed God, and that was counted as his righteousness.")
