Jesus told us a parable of a sower who went out to sow seed in his field.

Of the four kinds of ground that the seed fell on, three actually allowed the seed to take root and grow.

Of those three ground that had seed growing in it, in two of the ground, the tree died out, either because of rocks in the ground, or weeds, or thistles, not enough depth, etc.

This isn't a mathematical formula that 2 out of every 3 seeds that is planted in the heart of a person that actually begins to grow will die out, but rather an illustration that seed, once planted and growing CAN die out for different reasons that Jesus gave in the explanation of the parable.

So, watch your heart, get rid of doubt and unbelief and any root of bitterness that chokes out the Word, and dig deep into the Word of God to be able to grow thereby. ABIDE in Him, as you have no life on your own, but only as you abide.

Yes, you can. You have to remember that although you may be saved, you're still HUMAN! The Apostle Paul once said that we are ALL "apt" or liable to sin. It doesn't matter how long you've served God, you have to MAINTAIN your salvation with worship, study and prayer in order for the relationship with God to be strong enough o help keep you from sin.

There is no "once saved always saved" in the bible. God will never take the gift of salvation from us, but we can reject it and walk away from it. On our part keeping our salvation is an on going process that must be worked on dailyt. We must seek forgiveness daily for our sins. If one does not seek that forgiveness daily, one's salvation is in danger. When one accepts Christ as their Savior your past sins and present sins are forgiven. If one sins again one must seek forgiveness.

"As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."

Yes you can. You can get caught up in things that pull you away from God. You'll find yourself going after those things and leaving God blowing in the wind somewhere. I know that because I did it. I got saved and was serving Him because others wanted me to, not because I myself wanted to. And I got tired of it and left Him. But when He touched me and called me I came back to Him because I truly wanted to serve Him and stop doing the things that grieved His heart.

And I hope I'm not coming off all preachy. I'm only speaking from my own life.

In the written word it says you can, but I believe as long as you're breathing you CAN be saved as long as you do your part with the tools God has provided.

You are your salvation. And yes, there's a lot of people lost unto themselves. But it's never too late to open your eyes and save yourself.

Absolutely.

We are cautioned not to do anything to have our names erased from the book of life. Paul counciled us to continue checking that we were in the faith.
