Driving while drunk out of my mind the night of my high school graduation with a passenger. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I download MP3s, a lot of them. Hundreds. Probably a terabyte or two over the last 5 years.

I found an old audio CD I'd made in 2002 with a particular song I liked. I didn't label that disc though so I had no idea who the artist was, nor what the song title was.

That same evening I was going through my archives, transferring stuff from CD to DVD, and I stumbled across a disc of MP3s which contained that very song, complete with its title. Now that's luck.

I still debate this with myself, but I was lucky to have survived an evening-news-worthy grisly car crash that totalled both cars, flinging the one I was in across the intersection and flipping it over. The newsman said (I heard from others) that no one could possibly have survived this crash, and yet everyone survived--the two in the truck that hit us and my husband and myself. In fact, my injuries, which included NOTHING broken (but lots displaced and bruised and strained) were the worst of anyone's. I escaped that crash with a bone bruise that kept me on crutches for a month and has resulted in some long-lasting pain. I guess it was luck that I didn't die outright, but it also contributed to my philosophical viewpoint that a definitive car crash that kills you outright is NOT a bad way to die. It is sudden and there's no pain unless you survive to be manhandled by the medics.

When we were dating in college, I had an 18 inch mohawk and pants that were more duct tape than cloth (any tear in the pants I'd just duct tape right over), never wore matching shoes and was the president of a Socialist organization... and she STILL married me.

I was going 75 mph on the Interstate, a state patrol passed me, and I did not get a ticket.

It's happened several times.
