You are doing a great job! However you don't have to get up every 3 hours in the middle of the night. At 4 weeks just moisten the dry kitten food. Mix 3 parts food to 1 part water and let it sit long enough to get really soft and mushy. It takes a bit ( about 30 minutes) for it to get mushy so plan accordingly. Do this about 4 times a day. Also get the kitten toys. It can become a bitter if it doesn't have stuff to play with. Scratching post are great. I actually have 2 kittens right now that are still feeding. They are about 2 1/2 weeks. AT 5 weeks you only want to do 1/2 wet 1/2 dry so it will only take about 10 mins before you feed. Make sure they always have water available though. At 6 weeks they can be completely on dry food. Also don't forget about the litter box ( yeah fun ) j/k its not hard. But when they are young they say to use just clay litter. I have been doing alot of reading because these are the first kittens that I have had before they were 8 weeks. They are so cute. Well I hope I helped you a little and good luck to ya.

If she is eating small amounts of solids don't worry too much, tiny kittens do not require a lot of food, I would not get up every 3hours to feed her, she will let you know if she is hungry, Whatever you do do not start her on fish as you will find as I did once on fish they will refuse any other kind of food.

wow
your a Marta
you are doing everything right don't worry
how brave you are to do all these feeds
this little baby wont need anything else from what you are doing right now for until it's 5 to 7 weeks old now
then just treat her like a normal cat at that age but still keep her warm
her need for feeds will reduce by then
good luck

Normally at that age they will only eat if they are hungry and they will stop if they are not hungry. As long as she has some food that is available for her through out the day just incase I think that she will be fine. The vet will be able to weigh her at the check ups and that will let you know how she is doing too.

No more kitty milk, just the formula and wet kitten food. She'll be OK. Her tummy is smaller a walnut at the moment so she won't take in to much at a time. Bless her & you.

Let her free feed and eat as much as she wants. Leave food down all the time, including dried kitten food. Don't assume she is managing to eat on her own though unless you have observed it and are confident that she is managing. She can't really overeat at this age.

Honestly I think what your doing is great. The kittens eating and drinking so thats good. She's probably just scared so give it a couple of weeks and she should come around. Just keep doing what your doing and everything should be ok. Good luck!!

As long as the kitten knows there is food available and can locate it, the cat will be ok. Especially if it can now eat on its own. They know how much to take naturally.
