Anything in the brown family that way if the walls change again you'll have a neutral color of carpet that pretty much any color will go with. Anything from Ecru to beige or taupe to Chocolate depending on how light or dark he wants it. Lighter carpets for darker walls and daker carpet for lighter walls is the typical rule of thumb.

It depends on how out there he wants to be. Normally a neutral color like cream or light brown would be the ideal, but green can look great with blues, burgundy or even orange or purple.
Take a color sample along with you to the carpet store and ask their opinion thats what they are there for.

It depends on the colour green he wants...if it's a dark green, like hunter green, I'd go with either beige or cream coloured...if it's a lighter green, then probably a darker shade of beige will do...good luck!!
