For the past 3 weeks I have had upper abdominal pain that would come and go. I kept telling my doc about it so we had some tests done. I had an endoscopy, and a gastric emptying scan. After I told him about my pain, I told him that on Monday after school, I had about a 20 min episode were the pain came on soooo stong and I had nausea and was tossing a turning and couldnt do anything! I finally had some diarrhea and threw up and I was fine. I told him about that and he thinks its either my intestines spasming or my gallbladder. He is making me get an ultrasound on tues but my stomach hurts sooo bad and has been hurting constantly. If my tummy is not in pain, then it feels like I did a 100 crunches. Everytime I eat something like some what fatty, I have diarrhea. Sometimes the pain goes under my right side under my rib cage and sometimes into my back. Does this sound like gallbladder or intestinal spasms? It hurts so bad I want it to go away now!

This sounds like classic gall bladder. Unfortunately it can take awhile to get a diagnoses. Often insurance companies want there to be stones present even if your gall bladder is not functioning at 100%. Avoid fatty food, carbonated drinks, dairy and acidic foods. I know, not much left t o eat or drink after that list ! If before or after the test on Tuesday you have an attack, head straight for the ER. This is usually what happens, if it is considered an emergency and your blood work shows something significant they often remove the gall bladder as an emergency. The surgery it self is not bad. You do have to be careful with what you eat for several months afterward and always watch you fat in take since you will have one less filter - then putting more stress on your liver.

On your right side, near your lower rib would indicate gall bladder. Sometimes symptoms can mimic a heart attack or chest pain. They can also cause vomiting and nausea.
I would have gone to the ER or demanded the test be done right away. Sometimes stones can lodge in a duct and cause the vomiting, this is serious.
If you are running a fever, get to the ER or your doctor before Tuesday.

OUCH!
I remember that feeling very well,,,I feel so sorry for you,,
I had the same thing for almost 2 yrs...It got so bad I had to have surgury...BEST thing i ever did and it was so easy!! I felt like I was in hospital for a vacation ....
DON'T hesitate at all,,GET IT OUT if at all possible ..I haven't had a problem since,,and now I can eat greasy foods and even chocolate again,,even though I shouldn't at least I can..
The only comfort I could get at all was to get on all fours on a cold floor and put my head down to floor....BEEN THERE DONE THAT,,,GOOD LUCK!!!
I would be surprized it you don't have gall stones,,,but only tests will tell,,go to your Dr's ASAP and even mention,,,My Dr told me I was too young but he was surprised when tests came back possitive..
Symtoms are very similar to food poisoning ,,thats what I thought it was first couple times...sounds like you have it..

if it was your gallbladder you feel like you were dying. i thought i was having a heart attck my first episode. any episode after that i could feel the rumbling coming on from the stones. the pain was so intense i could not talk, barely move, and had to take short breaths to breath. i never had any stomach pain. good luck i hope you find out soon what the cause is!

Its your gallbladder. I had the same exact symptoms. Did you tell your doctor how bad this pain is? Why is he making you wait? Thats crazy. Either find another doctor or demand that he take you seriously and do something about it now.

Hummm reminds me of how i felt befor haveing my gull bladder removed. I had mine out back in the day where they cut it out..leaveing a big scar and spending a week in the hospital. My 14 year GranDaughter had hers taken out and it was no big deal because of the new procedure. She got out of the hospital the very next day. The biggest problem for you right now is the fear of haveing this done but take it from me it's a piece of cake compared to the pain your haveing right now.

Gallbladder, most defiantly. the fatty food thing did it for me. Not a lot you can do until diagnosed but with any luck they'll whip it out or zap the stone with a Lazar!!!
Drink water or black tea.
No fat at all, it just ain't worth it.

It could be lots of things with those symptoms. Also are you a male or female. Gender sometimes makes a difference when dealing with abdominal disorders.

Sounds like gallstones to me. I used to get severe, knife like pains that went through to my back if I ate fatty food. I used to pray for death - that's how bad they were. My gallstones were detected by ultrasound. That was my only symptom, no vomiting, etc.....I'd ask for an ultrasound if I were you.

If your doctor didnt know , I dont think you should take open answers from anyone and do what they say.
You should see a proffesional doctor since urs doesn't know.
Nothing just happens.
