I really don't think it will kill you but it can get so bad that it makes your quality of life very bad.it really depends on what type arthritis you have.Osteorthritis is the most common kind,it can cause stiffness and swelling in the joints and it can affect all parts of the body...Your doctor can give you certain types of medication to help you live a productive life, and people with arthritis needs to keep moving the bones or your bones and joints will stiffen up...Yhen there is the cripleing kind and that is called osteoporoses, this is the bad kind,it can twist your joints, hands ,feet etc in all kinds of directions, and sometimes requires surgery...I would say arthritis is more of a chronic disease that really makes life miserable, but i do not think it is a killer persay, but it is a disease that can make life challenging..I had to have a total knee replacement because when i was 14 years old i had an injury, then later on srthritis set into tnat joint and finally eat all the cartlidge out so i just had a knee replacement 11 days ago, and i am doing great....

Normal every day arthritis doesn't kill. I do know that certain types of auto immune diseases such as Reiter's Syndrome-can or have been known to attack certain body systems-and even sometimes the heart. But, they are extremely and I do mean, extremely RARE!

Not in and of itself. But it certainly would make it difficult for the afflicted to move to avoid dangerous situations.
