I believe in how the bible teaches the birth of Jesus, but not the commercial rendition of the "nativity"
We know Jesus was born in a manger, in the stable at an inn... but it is found in Matt 2:11, that the wise men didn't come immediately to the stable, but found Jesus as a young child in a house.
Please read if you don't believe me!!! lol
Take care, God bless

As far as the virgin birth goes, I believe it. WHY do I believe it? Because writings from as early as the second century were saying that Jesus had been sired by a Roman soldier, and/or that Mary was a whore. So OBVIOUSLY, they were putting that out there to counter what the earliest Christians were saying. There are many cases of this as far as Jesus is concerned.
If there was nothing miraculous about Jesus' birth, why didn't they just say that Mary and Joseph had premarital sex? That would be the most obvious choice, rather than Mary having sex with a Roman soldier!
Or do you mean something else by the "nativity" of Jesus? Are you talking about the wise men and all that other stuff? The wise men weren't there when Jesus was born. Only the shepherds were.

Yes i Believe in Jesus' nativity. And there is written evidence. King Herrod Was as we would call him a puppet king for the Romans mind the Romans did give Herrod a different name but the roman scribes did write about Jesus birth & the visit of the 3 wise men. There is also the jewish record, that show Jesus was real. (the written documents are held in Israel & the British Library & have been confirmed as legitamet documents written about the time of Jesus Birth.)

Legend - RC
Edit:-
I think people are getting confused as to the question. It asks if the NATIVITY is real or legend.
Everyone knows the nativity is loosely based upon the event, but not factually accurate. So it must be a legend. I have been to the birthplace of Jesus, and it wasn't a bloody wooden shed with a manger inside it. It was a cave. Nor was there any mention of three kings in the Bible. Nor the Gold, Frankinscence or Myrhh. All these things have been added. Making it a legend/story.
Get with the program people.

The problem is that besides the Bible, there's no other official record of Jesus. Despite being meticulous records keepers, the Jews nor the Romans have the trial of Jesus in their documents and journals.
The other problem is that there were two people going by the name of Jesus (as its a popular name, like Charlie or Jeff is these days...) - at the time of crucifiction.
Therefore going backward, the nativity is just a springing board for a symbolic story...

I believe it because it is written in the bible and I beleive the bible to be true. The time of year is not important to me as it is the event that is celebrated not the date.

God himself is by definition supernatural. One can hardly believe in him but not believe in the possibility of the supernatural if he communicates with mankind.
