It's Jeremiah 29:11 For the Lord says, "I know I have plans for you--plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for you to have a future and a hope." This verse greatly comforted me when my father was in a critical condition, and it comforted me to such a degree that I just kept crying! I felt so relieved by this verse. I knew God was speaking to me through this verse.

I love these 2:

Ephesians 1:13-14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.”

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”

And I especially love these:

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Isaiah 34: 6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood.

It shows me how ludicrous the logic of the bible is. A god that is benevolent would never even need a sword let alone cover it with the blood of his creations.

Judges 19, 23-24 This is the bit where the priest says to the mob: " Behold, here is my daughter, a maiden, and my concubine: them i will bring out now, and humble ye them and do with them as seemeth good to thee"

I'm glad I'm not part of that.

'An eye for an eye'. No, 'Turn the other cheek'. No, 'An eye for an eye'. No, 'Turn the other cheek'. No, 'An eye for an eye'. No, 'Turn the other cheek'.

Oh I don't know. The Bible is so full of contradiction and superstition, I really can't choose my favourite myth.
