I found a comment on my site from somebody who suggested that i should add 'river blindness' disease in parasites section and i did that and i also added an extra page in each other section...i added 'nipah virus', 'streptococcus bacterium', 'tinea cruris' fungus and 'lesch-nyhan syndrome'....check the updated site and tell me what u think of it now plz cuz i need opinions of ppl to make it better..here is it:

"Elephantiasis is a disease caused by a parasite called lymphatic filariasis".
Actually, elephantiasis is just the name given to the syndrome of oedema (swelling) of a limb due to obstruction of the respective regional lymph drainage. If you see the lower limbs of some of the patients, they look like the foot of an elephant, hence the name.
When people say 'elephantiasis' they are usually referring to the disease called 'lymphatic filariasis (LF)', caused mainly by two species of parasitic worms (filaria): Wuchereria bancrofti and Brugia malayii. The former mainly causes LF in Africa, the latter in Asia.
Filaria are parasitic worms, and those two mentioned above are transmitted by mosquitoes. However, elephantiasis can, as you've posted, be caused by non-infectious processes. Other infectious parasitic diseases can also cause the obstruction which leads to the 'elephantiasis', including Onchocerca volvulus which I'd mentioned before.
