Too live.. or not too live, that is thee question.
Well In the past 6 months I've accomplished a lot... an awesome paying job... my own place again... a lil money in the bank.. all the things people work so hard for. So now what? I feel like my life is nothing more than a compilation of games.. we make money... to spend it (thee only thing it's good for) isn't that not the same thing you do in monopoly? or any other game that consist of money? relationships... the biggest game in life... CHESS! you make a move.. they react to it... over and over... cept in chess theirs less cheating... They key to that game.. is remembering.. that most games ALWAYS have a game over... so just expect it...and the relationships that dont end u'll spend yrs wishing it did... Chess is fun.. but after awhile.. ya need a break to much thinking involved...we live just to die...

so we make money to spend it
we start relationships that will just end
and we live to die.. hmmm

ever beat the original mario for regular nintendo?
after u beat it u can skip to any world u want even the last one if you wanted
making it a lot easier to beat it a second time..

well if were living to die... why not just skip to the last step..

seriously why not?

A common excuse people use to keep people from killing theirselves is... "theirs a lot of people out there that will miss you...

Well... I HAVE TO DIE someday... will they not miss me just as much if nature takes it's course and i die? it'll still hurt them... if I decide I dont want to live.. shouldn't people take some satisfaction in knowing that I died because it was what I truely want.. not because i was old.. or bc i had cancer..? knowing i wanted to should give them a lil piece of mind..

usally people deal with the grief of losing a loved one by saying " he's in a better place now" or "he's a lot happier now"... well if I died because I wanted to... it would be true..

save your grief for the people who actually enjoy the challenging game of life and are taking out by the nemises of nature...

wanting someone to endure life bc u love them or will miss them... is selfish..

Another reason for living and probably the biggest one that I struggle is.. family...
Have a kid means u have someone that depends on you..
a blank art work that you almost entirely craft into either...
the most amazing piece of art.. or into a lil bastard..

kind of like a gigi pet...

parts of me want to make that masterpiece simply because I know with my knowledge I could mold an awesome master

but to bring a kid into a world when I had such a doubtful attitude towards it... simply because I wanna show off my art work seems selfish...

Life just seems like a lot of effort... and either way you end up in the same spot... dead..

This past 5 or 6 months is the happiest I think I've ever been.. and I put a lot of thought into it all.. and living life through just makes no sense to me..

I'm writing not for sympathy... trust me I can make me feel better than prolly anyone else can.. I'm writing because I relize that once I kill myself... there is no tomorrow... it's one of the few games... that doesn't allow you to continue you once the game is over... I wanna make sure this is what I want to do.. although I doubt there is regret after death... it's moreless curiousity that i dont wanna spend rs to answer...

perhaps someone can show me something I overlooked...

So my future is still yet to be determined.. but my life WILL NOT be lived without purpose.

So yea fill free to post comments or ideas or vauleable knowledge you may have

thanks
~~ ROB

A great question that deserves a deep answer.

If you think of your life as existence over a discrete unit of time, then you're short-selling your real impact on the world. Like an ocean, we live in a continuum, where everything you say travels in waves all over. Kindness, meanness, whatever it is, propagate beyond your imagination.

The truth is that we all die. Yet we all survive. 100-years from now, the same streets, buildings will all be there, but different people will be there to walk the streets and populate the buildings.

Your money, your belongings and your life are all temporary. What survives beyond is your relationships, your words, your ideas. Just the fact you can think so deeply, means that you're capable of causing more waves than most others. So make yours a positive contribution.

Rob,
I completely understand how you feel. I too look around and see that the joy that life once brought has disapeared. Every day for me is the same, no newness. I have lived this way for more than two years and what I have learned is that I am no diffrent than the billions of others with who I walk with on this planet. Why do I continue to live instead of just ending "the game"? Its not because of the sadness that my loved ones would feel if I were gone, because eventally the sadness lessens and they would do fine. The reason I countinue every day and will continue until I die in the manner of which I am destined to die is because every day I seek something new. Whether it is knowlege I did not have before, or a new experience.
Comparing chess to life is unfair because chess has a limited number of moves and life's moves are only limited by our imaginations.
I read between the lines of your post that you are seeking something new, I suggest take up writing, poetry, short stories, etc. Find something that you can get excited about, and feel satisfaction in.
Instead of looking at life as a game look at it as a journey, filled with possibilities.
Just because you havent seen it yet doesnt mean your life has no purpose!

Rob,
You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned purpose. People with a "why" can deal with anything and there is no stopping them. Some people (sometimes I think most people) can't find their why. Which as you know and I'm sure you can see is why their is such a prevelance of people finding "busy" things to do. They watch TV or live on the internet. They have their moments of happiness and joy. But that's not purpose, that's a distraction. They come to the end of their life and realize that they've not lived, merely existed. What a sucky life that would be.

I can't tell you or anyone how to find their why in life. It's different for everyone. I do know though, that if you don't at least search for it, life doesn't seem to have much meaning.

As for me, I heard something one time that made sense to me. The easiest way to discover the purpose of an invention is to ask the creator of it. The same is true for discovering your life's purpose.

You have a very sharp and deep mind my friend, and I'm sure you do have a lot to offer, not only a child but to someone you meet whom you choose to share. Having a why is like a mission statement for your life. I hope that you try to find your "why", and more importantly that you find it. If for nothing else to live for, try finding it and see if it's worth it. What have you go to lose?

As redundant as life is, its really not the people that will miss you that should keep you from dying, rather its the tiny, miniscule moments where something good happens, and you just feel content. Sure, you do make money to spend it, but then later on in life when you realize you make money to support other living beings (a family) then its more rewarding than the simple feeling of spending. And slightly (in my opinion) more rewarding when you know its your own blood that runs through that little being's veins, and yes, is that empty canvas ready to learn, to inherit everything you will teach him/her. All relationships never last forever, even if there was the utmost love, death can and will play that part to end it one way or another.. whether it be today or tomorrow, but to just go through each fleeting moment...from the little pangs in the heart from the beginning, to the complacent middle and possible tumultuous ending. But, its not to live for the future or the past, but for each passing moment as if it were the last.

Live for yourself. If you see this life as nothing more than a game your already a loser in it. Seeing relationships the way you do no wonder you haven't won that game either. I am sorry that feel you are only living to die. There is so much more to life than what you are seeing and this is no place to get into all of that. Weather you decide to live and raise that work of art is up to you, but if you want to feel fulfilled then you have step outside yourself and help with something. instead of all your selfish feelings try to put someone else before you. Then you might start to feel like even in the game of life you mattered and that is the best there is. Take what you have and help someone that can not help themselves instead of just trying to win. that way you will feel like a winner instead of just sounding like a loser. good luck

Rob, you offer some compelling thoughts. The thing I see missing from your posting is a focus on something other than yourself. They say that suicide is the ultimate selfishness. I know that I can dwell on myself until I feel there is no real purpose in continuing. But then if I will turn my attention to others and what I can do to assist them, I realize that my life is filled with a purpose. I would also encourage you to search for faith in a higher being. This life is not all there is and we are all here for a reason. Don't cut your time short.

I think you are making a common mistake that too many people make in today's society. It is all about you. What will you get out of life and it is all about having fun and attaining for yourself.

What about what you should be giving others. If you are so intelligent, why not go into the inner cities and teach children who have no parents and really don't have anyone to help them be successful. Help them be all they can be.

Yeah I can see why your life is so empty, because you talk about others' selfishness for wanting you to stay around so they won't miss you? What's that? You are the one selfish, because you seem to want life to be easy without effort and truthfully for the people living fulfilled lives, it is all about making an impact in other people's lives.

Yeah, there are only so many toys you can accumulate for yourself and at the end what have you done?????NOTHING!!

You need to find something out there that you can be passionate about and help fix. Not many have the luxury of just "checking out" because they must take responsibility for their existence and try to make it better.

Every Action we do is a great help for the people. Just to show an example, when we buy food items from the shop, we are helping the shop keeper's family for his or her own family to take care of it. He takes care of his family from the profit of the purchased items. Every business people are helping the society to come up in life. In fact, Business men changes the economy of the other human being to take care of the family. Life is a circle which is connected with love. Whatever profession you choose, you are doing the great help to the society as long as you are not hurting any body in both physical and mentally. Please re-read the sentence and have a deep thought on every actions you do. You will realize the same.
