Your question poses a false dichotomy. A scientist can believe in God. Believers can make science their profession. The first example that comes to mind are the Jesuits and their work in astronomy.

Everyone obviously has their own freedom of choice to believe what they want but on whether it's wrong to prefer science over God probably depends on how he/she expresses what she thinks. I think if someone were to condemn others just because they don't share the same beliefs is definitely wrong. I think God created the science of nature but someone else might disagree. It would depend which point of view you take. A christian's point of view might prove it wrong but generally everyone has their right to choose what they believe. It's not a matter of right and wrong. It's the actions, not the opinions that should be judged.... i don't know maybe i think too much.

Sience is not replacement of God. God made all sciences. Man is only discovering the sciences that God has made.
All planets that keep moving in scientifically calculated courses are all made of God. Human body that is based on biochemistry, biology etc. is made by God. Could any thing evolve by itself so perfect. Man does not have control of his own body's internal organs. They are designed and made to work by God. He created life and death so humans keep leaving their own replacements before they die.
There are things like soul, Angels and life after death which man could never find with science. So God sent his revealations to guide men. It is God who guides the scientists towards discoveries. They can not discover on their own if God doesn't want them to find.
I prefer atheists over Christians. At least they are honest and not prejudice. Highly educated athiest do at one point start believing on Quran when they read it because it has directions towards scientific facts written 1400 ago in Quran which have been discovered only in 20th century.
God dictated Mohammad Quran He himself being illiterate could not have known every thing pointing to science in Quran. Read the following sites:

Don't listen to Catholic Crusador. The existence of God has yet to be proven. It is not wrong at all to believe science over God. You are allowed to believe whatever you want.

Perfectly reasonable.
God created everything - including science and nature.
When science explains to me how intelligence was created at random out of nothingness - maybe I'll worship science.
Until then - I have my GOD and HE is alive.

I have no problem with science. I look at science as a study that show how God's creation works.

No, it's called rational. Not wrong in the least, except to those who fear science.

You believe in what you believe in. All the "reason" in the world won't make a bit of difference if you simply don't believe in something.
