try getting up on the wheel a little more?It is because of him and his brother's,Ernie & Dan,that we have restrictor plate racing,like we have today [210.364]sorry Bill,I know if you knew it was going to lead to this,you would of lifted a little !!!

It would be so cool to see Awesome Bill be awesome again, and even temporarily bring Wood Brothers Racing back to its former glory. I'm with you. It's time for Bill Elliott to stop being a back marker.

No, he was not responsible for the restrictor plate. It is as Davidg said. The only part Bill had in the restrictor plate was his qualifying times before the plate.I think he was the fastest at the time just before the plate came along.
That is why he still holds fastest lap records today!
I have always been a big Bill Elliot fan. He's a really nice guy!!
He's always been known for getting the most out of what he's got to work with, so I don't know about getting up on the wheel. I just think his team is behind the BIG NAME teams tech wise.

The speed is not the issue for restrictor plates,the issue is the controll of a car at that speed.Bobby Allison loss of controll and went into the fence and NASCAR decided then that the restrictor plates were needed.

Ah no, the restrictor plates were installed after Bobby Allison's crash at Talledega in 1987 when he almost went into the stands.
