Looks like tis time to give your computer a serious enema and reformat it and load up all yourn goodies back in place.

I do this once a year to my computer and all my important files are stored in my other computer that I use for office work only.
This computer can be restarted and formatted as many as I wish which ever is worthy to fix any problem that makes my computer go bananas.

oh wow!!! That sure enough sounds like you have some kind of virus that is systematically screwing up programs one by one till it gets to the heart of the system. I have never seen anything like that before. Ususally a virus will attack one certain file and do its dirty work from there. Have you download anything new recently and if so get rid of it. run a virus and a spyware scan also download microsoft anti-malware tool and maybe it will find it if it is mal-ware. Sorry your having those problems let me know if you find the culprit I may need it for my customers if this is some kind of new virus.

It could be a virus, to check that it is a virus go here and do an on line scan.

Then download Gary Utilities free at: http://www.glaryutilities.com

Go through the options, i.e. Clean Up, Optimise etc.
It could be that your machine needs a clean, free up some space.

If this fails, bring it to a technician or reformat the hard drive.
