_____________
quote: video card=NVIDIA GEFORCE4 MX 4000 128 mb
_____________
have you installed the drivers for the NVIDEA graphics card?
if you have and it dosn't work you should upgrade to a 264 mb i picked one up a year ago for $100 AUS, and remember without installing drivers the video card is only capible half its ability.
NVIDEA is a great brand i have a series 6.

or if you have not installed Direct X 10 i would Try that. its free and most games use directdraw drivers which is what DirectX is.
it is FREE and Legal.

This is unlikely to be the hard disk's problem

Use the mouse to drag window as a test, if the movement of the window is smooth then the video card is alright (if not, then reinstall its driver)

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to call the Windows Task Manager, close all other programmes
if the CPU Usage or the Commit Charge is high then some other programmes may be running and using lots resources
if you are sure those programmes are viruses then just kill them (End Process)
or if you really want to play the game just kill those programmes as well ^-&

Close any of the programs running in the background do a virus check. It could just be as computers get older they become more and more clustered. If all you use your computer for is games and you cant work out why its slowing down maybe it needs formating.
I play warrock from time to time, and it sounds like your ram is a little low.
Also when you say lag do you mean your computer is jumpy or is it your internet connection?

Looking at it, I am not sure if your games had slowed down (ie, fast before) or its just slow from the start.

Looking at the specs, more memory, better graphics card/
