Your better off getting one in the States. The conversion process is time consuming and it will take a long time to get it here. Why bother?

I'm not sure I follow this question? Porsches are made in Germany... so Porsche cars that are sold in Japan are imported to Japan from Germany. You wish to buy a car in Japan and then export it to another country?
In short, you would save much more money to simply buy the Porsche in your own country. And if they are not imported to your country for some reason, the least costly option would be to buy it in Germany and then bring it back to your country.
As for what it will actually cost? You don't mention what country you are bringing it too so it's impossible to give exact or even estimates. You will need to pay any related tariffs for the import of the car. You may have special registration requirements (this will become more complicated if the car you are imported is not certified for street use in the country where you plan to operate it). And potentially, you will have the costs to bring the car up to the needed standards for your country.
Due to the final part, it may be cheaper to purchase a car from a country that has the most similar regulations (is this why you are looking at a Japanese import?), though generally, purchasing from the source will be less costly.

Wait a minute Porsches are not produced in Japan, There are only two Porsche Production Plants in the whole world. which are in Germany and I believe the second one is in Astria(spelled something like this).
I am guessing you moved to america from japan and you want your porsche from japan here
It really is not that hard but it is bothersome
first you need to documents and registeration of the porscher from japan to the states DMV. Then i think it might need a emission test, then they can legalize it, of course the porsche needs to be sent here before the test, then get insurance on it and enjoy your special imported from japan porsche which i believe the steering wheel is on the right side.

Contact the Porsche factory in Japan and see how much they would charge to ship it... those Japanese Porsches are really great cars.. I can see why you want one.... maybe some day they will build them in Europe... Germany, perhaps.
As a practical matter... it will end up costing you about twice what you pay for it at the factory in Japan.
