In the distance from pitcher's hand to the home plate how much deflection is possible in a curve ball? Is it measurable? How?

it could curve alot it curves because the spin on the ball when it is released the seams cut through the air therefore force it to curve.

The amount of deflection is dependent upon the amount of spin put upon the ball. Obviously, there is a maximum amount of curvature one can apply to a pitch. From the pitcher's point of view, if you observe a baseball spinning in a counter-clockwise direction, the rotation of the ball will pull it to the left. I'm no physicist, but more spin equals more curve, to an extent. This happens because the air current on the left side of the ball doesn't equal the air current on the right side. Again, if spinning in a counter-clockwise direction, the air will flow uniformly over the right side of the ball as it spins towards the catcher. The left side of the ball is actually spinning with, or in the same direction as, the air. This causes a disruption in the flow of air on this particular side of the ball. The ball will take the path of least resistance, so it follows the disrupted air flow since it is putting up less resistance.
I suppose it is measurable, probably in a number of ways. Take, for instance, a three dimensional chart. If a pitch is released at the origin, then the amount of deviation from a straight throw can be calculated.

Well to start as soon as the ball leave the hand it starts to lose velocity so it is already dropping as it comes in. Now add that to the fact that a curve comes in anywhere from 10-15 mph slower then a fastball and you get a much bigger nature drop. But all in all I can get a curve to break over 3 feet depending once again on how hard and how much I snap it.

Lord no!! If a republican or any white politician made that remark, they would be slaughtered by the media. That is one of the things that makes me crazy..the fact that black people say garbage like that all the time and it's ok but let a white person say that and we are the racist pigs of the century. This country will never have equality between the races until black Americans stop playing the race card. They need to get over themselves, let go of the past and stop hiding behind their race every time something goes wrong. That my friends, is a typical black..hide behind your race every time you don't get that promotion or someone says something about you personally. See it everyday and an totally sick of it. All that stuff is enough to turn someone racist and it needs to end. My personal thing is to call people on it when they do that because it is just so detrimental to everyone around.

It varies. I've seen curve balls that break 2 or 3 feet, others that break 6 to 8 inches. And that break can be vertical as well as horizontal.
