Get your car off my lawn. I did this before.
But what it really means is you are coming on too strong about something.
Your beliefs and love are the most stongest and people do not like to hear and feel how strong they are.
Another time, you can be in a fight and another person may say back off meaning to leave that person alone.
Back off your question means don't ask it.
But it's too late. The question has been asked and will go down in history as the Back Off question.

No but I was pressured into telling someone to back off. Someone who got pushy every single day at work, when i couldn't stand it no more ( after already having had a bad day) I blurted it out. It just means for them to stop pushing around. First time ever though.

when somebody says...BACK off...they would mean:
1. This is none of your business so go away...
2. Stop being pushy....
3. Stop coming near that/him/her (usually in fights)
When I'm told that...I would just do it..i'd back off...
fighting is useless...
