Seeing people's responses-being pro world government- makes me want to bash my head into my keyboard......I blame government school. Or perhaps drugs. Maybe both.
Here are some things to read which will **enlighten you** on why the US was built on the ideas of individuality, national soveriegnty, personal autonomy, and limited government-and why that's the best way to preserve human rights and liberties:
*The Constitution
*The Declaration of Independance
*The Bill of Rights
*George Washington's farewell address
*The Monroe Doctrine
*Democracy in America by Alexis de Tocqueville
*1984 by George Orwell
*The Federalist Papers
Once you read those, you may realize that America was founded on the ideals of independant people functioning in a society with limited government. The ideas of personal Liberty and progress would be crushed under the unilateral control of a cruel, omnipresent, overbearing, and distant "one world" government. The only way to maintain our Liberties is to have small and separate governments...and what, except Liberty and freedom to make your own choices, do you want out of life?

i'm not quite sure i'm understanding what is going on here so disgard this if i'm wrong.
You know that in this video Clinton is not calling for a one world government system right? The video is cut of at the words "new world order" because they didnt want you to hear what hew as really talking about... Its a really bad conspiracy theorist hack job...
What hes saying is during the Cold war America and its allies had clear ideological viewpoints to stand behind that gave moral clarity in the countries actions.
He is saying that once the cold war ended we no longer had this clarity anymore so instead of moving to a settled phase as people had expected more trouble erupted.
I wish i knew when this speech was made but i'm guessing, it being clinton, he's referring to the break up of yugoslavia...
He is saying that before 1989 the world was "ordered" around Democracy vs Communism but now we need to find a new way to "order" the world system to maintain the status quo. A new common ground to insure unity you might say.
As it happens they did find this new moral compass. At this point they introduced the "war on drugs" which gave everyone something to fight for. Then in 2001 we started the war on terror an have recently begun finding common ground linked to global warming.
World order just means finding common ground with a
Americas allies, Clinton never has, and i doubt any american president ever will, call for a one world government...
This is just basic states-craft. Unity requires common ground "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". This works internally as well as in international relations...

No,I don't!! but the ex Trotskyite draft -dodging ideologues in the White House and the sap they have in the oval office doing their work for them certainly do!
I keep writing about how these guys have tapped into the doctrine of Manifest Destiny ,a hideous quasi -religious theme that runs silent but deep throughout our brief history as a nation. The neocons want a hegemonous world government system run by them. To achieve this they are willing to use our armed forces to police the world and get us involved wherever they see fit, spending billions to do so and committing atrocities whenever lamentably necessary(collateral damage, alas!). If these guys get their way(and no one is stopping them) the future will be massive outsourcing of torture and imprisonment without benefit of rights to unscrupulous client dictatorships and a privatised army with much in common with a mercenary private security force.
I hate to say this but ,after reading all the opinions expressed here on this Q&A format,I am deeply afraid that a large majority of our fellow citizens would be very happy with this scenario. This ties in with the theory that ¨if it is we who are doing it,it must be all right¨,a corner- stone of Manifest Destiny doctrine and the neocon manifesto!
Add Notes: to 'riveroc' down below:
I agree that Clinton has never called for this one world order but I am deeply afraid that your optimism regarding other presidents, the present one and future holders of the office, is misplaced.
No matter who uses the term, I object to the use of the word ´war¨ to refer to the erradication of unlawful social activities(drugs) or vague entelechies(Terror!). War is a big word with powerful meaning(or should be) and should be reserved for lethal military action taken to protect our nation and lives against real and imminent agents and/or elements which attack us or seek to deprive us of our
rights. War has hidden and unforeseeable consequences for all sides and should never be embarked on out of a misguided sense of urgency or frustration or political partisan gain.
Drug abuse and terrorism are best left to a well equipped police force and undercover agents with proper training and means at their disposal.
Under no circumstances should the armed forces be used to propagate a new world order.

Yes and no all countries have their history and pride. If more all of the world was like the USA Australia England you know democratic countries. If this was the case 3 world countries would not exist and I'm sure someday this will occur. Richer countries = better standards of living harsher laws environmental laws more jobs less crime. In fact the less poverty you have the less crime you get period!

Decode this lyrics " If you don't know me by now"
Not one world government.
Understanding who is the creator of heaven and earth?
Not in doing things at own whims and fancy.
Understand the purpose of life on earth?
Since we only come and passing-by in time.
Understanding what is a United Kingdom?
Exodus 2.1-6
Leviticus 26.13
What do you think?

Yes I want one world government. Imagine if a world body treated all countries and territories as a state and used the resources from one part of the globe where it is needed in another with subsidies and taxation paying for it all. I want hunger gone and human rights established everywhere, my dream anyway.
Now i will watch your video you have linked.

No I do not want this, how many wars will it take, to take control of the world. This is world domination and enslavement, but I'm sure they will convince Americans to vote for it.

HELL NO!!! Though we disagree on most issues, I'm with you on this one. It's been tried before (Gengis Kahn, Alexander the Great, etc.), and it always fails. Someone is always trying to gain their independence through secession! That'll never end, and that's why a one world government will fail!

No. What works for one nation, may not work for other nations. Maybe a democracy may not work in Iraq since none of the groups there can get along; but it works in other countries.
