In Plymoth, Indiana a 4th Grade student found a post it note on the floor and stuck it to her forehead. The Teacher's Aide told her to take it off her forehead or she would staple it to her permanately. The girl refused and the Teacher's Aide did staple it to the student! She wasn't seriously hurt and has 2 small holes where the staple went in.

Omg the kid is like what? 10. She had a post it note on her head, so f*cking what.. That teachers aide went way too far.. If I was the parent I don't even know what I'd do.. if you do something so drastic for something so minor. It's ridiculous.

First of all was the comment actually a racial statement or was it about the disability that your son has (that requires special ed)? I wasn't sure because the word blank could be a race or a disability (retarded, stupid, whatever word). Anyway, first and foremost I would speak to the teacher about this. If the teacher will not do anything about this then go to the principle and then the superintendent. While sometimes people aren't willing to give up a good teacher because of the current shortage, teacher's aides are pretty much disposable. They are NOT required and do NOT have to have a degree in many states so they can easily be replaced. If you have a teacher aide who is saying any kind of statement that is negative to students (and can prove this with a witness beyond just your son) then it should not be hard to get rid of this person. I would recommend that you go through all the steps to get rid of the garbage that would insult a student (any student, but especially one in a special needs/ed class).

The teacher's Aide should be dismissed and charged with Assault. I would think in America that would a death-row offence wouldn't it?But I suppose a staple is better than a bullet.

She should be fired, tried and then sued for emotional trauma. This is just ridiculous, kids aren't safe anywhere anymore.More and more often we are hearing how parents/other family members are killing them, teachers/priests are having intimate relations with them, the government loses them in the system, police abusing them and now we have aides stapling them!!!What has happened to the world?

IF all of what you say is true and all details have been provided and nothing else is left out- then - MY OPINION is - that person need to be arrested and charged for assault.
suisseshoggi, you said "I think it is abusive.."? There is NO "think" - this is ASSAULT! If it is done to any adult - it will be seen as assault so the same applies to a child.

don't know the laws there, but i think it is abusive..... i think it needs to be brought to the principals attention, and possibly the school board. she should not be working as a teacher's aide ...
