I've done many presentations at uni, and I've done some theatre before.

Whether I like it or not really depends of a few things;

If I am to talk about something I'm not interested in and I have no passion for, or I have not much knowledge about the subject, I hate it and I'll be absolutley terrible. In this case it would be hard for me to make eye contact, I'd repeat myself, I'd stammer a lot, and I'd feel more nervous.

But on the other hand, if I'm talking about something I'm interested in, and I know what I'm speaking of, I feel much more confident and happier. I'll still feel nervous, but I'd have less time to be nervous because I want to say as much as I can about what I'm interested in.

Same with acting as well. I would find it very hard to play a character if I can't relate to her or dislike her.

I guess the thing to do really is to be believe in what you're publicly speaking about.

Take care!

I took a Dale Carnegie Speaking and Human Relations course years ago. The class was large and had only two women in it. Sometimes I was pointed out as being the only woman. Sometimes the males were asked to get emotional in a speech and show their weak side to women (to which they asked uf 2 women to respond), sometimes the males had to learn how to approach women (so we 2 women were made the receivers for things like their practicing on how to ask for a date and how they were to ask for her hand in marriage, etc...so it was enlightening, but also frustrating because the women were pointed out in a time when very few women had reached high status in business). I couldn't do public speaking afterwards because of the glass ceiling and the good ole boy network that was very strong at the time, and to some point still exists today. Needless to say that made me hesitate to do public speaking and eventually I shyed away from doing it. Knowing about how they felt about women made me not like it so much because I didn't feel they would be listening (since my audience would have been all males)..

I do the 5 P's. I even have a area to try this evening on the highlights for a brother that necessary to alter because of the fact of a medical doctors appointment. He did provide me 2weeks be conscious in spite of the undeniable fact that so as that helped plenty. First I Pray to help for me to hold out advice to income the congregation. 2d I practice my advice third I prepare my advice& presentation, undergo in ideas (repetition is the mum of retention). now and returned I prepare plenty that I infrequently use my notes, so as that i will make eye touch with the objective audience, (on your case householder). 4th I Pray as quickly as returned. 5th I present my advice. confident I be worried on the start yet i'm concentrating plenty on my transport, I ignore ALL approximately being worried. Do like I do, on the same time as I"m strolling as much as the platform , I take super, gradual, deep breaths. This alleviate a majority of my rigidity seventy 5% i might say. I be worried as quickly as I FIRST communicate into the mic yet after approximately 30 seconds all of it subsides and that i flow returned to focusing on my advice, purely at situations temporarily gazing my notes if I could desire to, i attempt to realize my objective audience's coronary heart with eye touch & how I say a particular scripture. Doing all of this; you will have not have been given any time for being worried, a minimum of in my case. lol. The extra you prepare giving talks, the fewer you would be worried.

Yes I like to do public speaking. Sometimes I need to remember to slow down - it's easy to speak faster than the audience can hear.
