I don't know.

Interesting fact:
In Switzerland, all adult men are constitutionally *required* to own a rifle. However, in 1998 there were 6.4 firearms-related deaths per 100,000 population. In the same year, there were 15.22 firearms-deaths per 100,000 population in the US (this amounts to ~43,000 deaths). And in England, where gun ownership is tightly regulated, there were 0.46. In Japan, there were 0.07!
The US has the highest rate of firearms-related deaths in the world; the only countries coming anywhere near are Brazil (14.15), Estonia (12.74), and Mexico (12.07).
What do these figures tell us?

Are these deaths a good price to pay for the ability to rise against your government in armed revolt?

I am assuming that English is NOT your primary language.

Any non-felon can buy a weapon in the U.S. but the problem we have been having, is all of the teen age morons who don't BUY a gun... the STEAL a gun... then use it to kill innocent people because they are mentally ill people who would be just as lethal in ANY OTHER COUNTRY if they had the chance... THESE ARE SICK PEOPLE.

Not too sure I fully understand the question!!!! But here is my take on things.

I am British in the UK we do not have the constitutional right to 'bear arms' as Americans do.

I do not think it is 'bad luck' that kills people, I do not think it is guns that kill people, I do believe that people kill people and yes gun crime is horrific but the teenagers and the people who have recently went on killing sprees will have found other ways of killing if guns were put out of reach.

In saying that I don't think that guns should be so easily available for people to purchase. I don't fully understand the laws when it comes to gun purchase and gun permits but surely there needs to be some tightening in the procedures for obtaining guns and storing them?

US citizens have the right to bear arms. However, in most states, you have to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Also, guns are not allowed in any government buildings or schools unless you have a permit.

Basically, most citizens do not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and it is too awkward to walk around with a big rifle (unconcealed), so we don't arm ourselves on a daily basis.

That is why criminals can shoot us without much fear of getting shots fired in return.

Killed by bad luck? you mean shot by accident? how on earth would I know?
Lots of people get shot deliberately thats for sure.
Well, the constitution actually said that MILITIA had the RIGHT to bear arms not any Tom, Dick or Harry.
Why not turn your State into the Wild West and have street shoot outs all over the place. You do have armed POLICE dont you?
