I'm sure your gynocologist would tell you whether you still have your hymen or not.
I do have a problem with this, though. Your hymen can be broken doing a number of things other than sex. Why is it important to you whether you have it or not? If being a virgin until your wedding night is important, that should be all that matters, not a piece of skin that may or may not be there. You haven't cheated or sinned or done anything wrong if it is gone.
About your heavy flow, I know how you feel, there. Have you tried a tampon/pad combo for overnight? Try to change them as often as you can during the day to avoid a leak. At night, put a towel down underneath you to prevent bleeding on the sheets.

Having a hymen is not the symbol of virginity that it once was. Most girls have their hymen broken long before their first sexual experience. It can happen from gymnastics, horseback riding, etc. Regardless of whether your hymen is intact or not, you can still wait to have sex till you are married.
As far as controlling a heavy period, you could get on birth control pills. They will help reduce any cramping that you may have, make your flow lighter, and make your periods very regular.

No, i think its a good question to ask.
You could probably see it yourself though.
Just sit on the floor with a big mirror!
When i was curious, I searched "hymen" in yahoo pictures, and you can get an idea of what it looks like.
however, if you ever masturbated or tried on a tampon, your hymen was probably broken; but it would be a great question to ask your obgyn.
And about your period. I'm so sorry to hear about this.
I've had my friends tell me that using birth control helps regulate their period and stops those mega heavy days.
Like most girls, I am also pretty heavy on my first days.
I suggest wearing a tampon if you don't mind and are used to it along with a pad. It seems to work pretty well. Get the long ones too. I hate regular pads, they are so short.
I hope I helped!

it's not broken THAT easily but I heard it might tear from horse-riding and such. Even so, that doesn't mean it's bad, it's not even really related to being a virgin (for some virgins it gets torn from horse-riding, while some other girls get through sexual contact with it still intact, so it's pretty much a myth that it necessarily means you have to have it intact to be a virgin).
about your question about menstruation: wear a tampon and a night pad, it'll fill up the tampon first and any leakage then will be caught by the pad. That's what I do.

Yes, you can ask them if the hymen is still intact. I knew mine was broken because of when I would have to insert medications such as for yeast infections. I could also see it with my mirror.
The hymen can break for a lot of reasons, falls being a common reason for it to break.
I'm still a virgin even though my hymen is broken. Some women are born without a hymen as well.

You can talk to your gyn about anything that concerns you! believe it or not... that is not an unusual concern when women have had to have vag. exams. The gyn. will not think that is an unusual question at all. And wtg on saving self for some lucky man. I do wonder why you are so worried about it being in tact also... A virgin is a virgin.

No it cant be broken easily. If it could then they would never have started selling tampons. Gynos are used to those parts and thats what they are there for.
