It seems like they all do.

I did, than as I grew older I love them.

Same with everyone I know.

Many of the vegetables that we eat would be poisonous in their wild form; the domesticated varieties have been bred to reduce or remove the toxins. A good example of this is the brassica genus: cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, spinnach, mustard, etc.

Since such foods would be poisonous, our bodies are not evolved to like them.

Children actually have many more taste buds than adults: flavours are actually stronger for them than they are as an adult. So the children can taste these "poisonous" foods more intensely than adults, and don't like the taste.
When we say something is an "acquired taste", what we actually mean is that we need to "de-acquire" the ability to taste the poisons.

Well, there's a few reasons.

I've heard that it's because parents don't know how to cook vegetables. This from a food critic and nutritionist living in France, where children's menus in restaraunts look like miniature adult menus, and kids do eat well-prepared vegi's.

Also, our tastes do change as we grow older. Plants containing toxins do not taste good. The ability of children to recognize small amounts of natural toxins in what they eat is a survival mechanism. Adults have more mass- we can take it and not become horribly ill.

I loved vegis growing up, but then my family cooks well. At my current Uni, the vegi's are undercooked all the time- and it's noticable. I don't think I would have stood for it were I served undercooked vegi's as a child. ...Also, many natural plant toxins are broken down by adequate cooking (just a thought).

Too many people cook all vegetables the same, and overcook them so theyhave no flavor. Some have nasty textures, like lima beans, and some like spinach combine with milk in the mouth to form oxalate crystals which feel like sand. Also, parents expect their kids won't like vegetables because the parents didn't when they were small.
