I don't think so. I don't suppose many of us at my age have a clear conscience. Most of us have done something we regret. And a lot of us have bad memories because we are getting older. Both commonly happen in the same person but I don't see any significant connection

Please be careful in understanding these two words.
Conscience is something in your inner world, relating to the spirit "I AM"., It is like a big mirror, which sees everything. So you cannot cheat the conscience. Memory is the existence of a record of everything we register in brain. Due to wear and tear, and with age , memory goes to fogging, just because you don't need to remember each and everything. It is natural.
Less memory is more convenient and makes the travel happy. The more you remember, your mind touches on everything and thus you get occupied. So a lessened memory is a facility to keep to the spiritual activity.
Hence Conscience is nothing to do with bad memory.

I have a clear conscience because I'm lazy. It's too much trouble to do something that would get me into trouble later.

That gave me a little chuckle. How nice to have a clear conscience.

How nice to have a bad memory to clear our conscience.

I would have to agree. Most of us aren't nearly as guiltless as we think we are.
Thanks.

More like past mistakes being resolved in their mind and the person moving on. A mistake is only a mistake as long as it remains unresolved. Recognize it do one's best to correct it then leave it in the past as a reminder not to do it again. There is enough trouble today. One should not carry the burdens of the past.

Yes totally..
It's the reason my concience keeps me awake at night. Nothing to do with guilt, just a good and long memory.
