Why is the Dibbler worth saving?
How does it fit into the ecosystem?

This is one of those questions that could be better answered by a web search.

Why is anything worth saving? Why don't we just sterilize the planet? We could eat crackers.
And why the Dibbler of all things? It's gone extinct once before (1884) and it didn't seem to bother it much- 'cause here it is again!

The wikipedia article for this critter lists a number of links which might be useful... the Perth zoo, zoological archives, etc.
