While your feelings might be selfish, it's what you do about those feelings that counts. All feelings are valid. But not all actions are. Support and encourage your friend, no matter their choices. That is honorable and respectful love. And when that friend needs a soft place to land, they will remember your kindness and return.

In a way yes it is selfish to try to get some one to stay behind if that person needs to move on. However I believe this answer only applies to friends.

You want them to stay because you love them, thats a not selfish...that just shows how much you love them but...in the end you still have to let them go because if you really love someone, as incredibly painful as it is, you have to let them go.

No. There get times that you have to move on. For better and not for worse. That is why you move on. To be better off. Some people just realise it to late that they have to move on. Forget about the past and look into a better future. Remember one thing today: Today is the first day of the rest of your lofe!!!!!!

Yes, but it's hard not to want them to. My best friend broke up with her fiance and moved in the next month. I tried my best to convince her to stay.

yes. The more you try the further from you they go. If you truely love something you must set it free and in time and in love it will come back to you. If you try and get them to stay, you are looking after your needs and direspecting theirs

It is selfish... Its understandable though. No one wants to lose someone close to them. You can keep in touch with them though so keep that in mind..
