Absolute destruction? Absolute? If that was true, we would all be dead now. Even if man created a nuclear winter, I believe some of mankind would survive to carry on the species. Your perception of "apathy" would seem to be a mis-perception because the "nuclear non-proliferation treaty" is at the center of the world's concern over North Korea, Iran and other nations. And your proposition will do nothing to convince one teenager taking guns to his school, let alone convincing one jihadist.

If it is your responsibility to ask, it is also yours to act. What will you do to protect our possibility of having a "destiny"?

Never. Every organism on earth is a selfish being. Its a fact of life. Thats how we survive. For example, if we were selfish, we would all starve because we are giving our food away to more needy individuals.
