If voldy was so smart, when he took over the ministry, why did he simply take a time turner and go back to any part in time and kill harry???Also, the sorting hat seemed a little off to me.Snape was as brave as James was,and james really seemed more crueler, almost like draco. Why didn't james go to slytherin and snape go to griffyndore for being brave and standing up to james? Also, they were fighting for diversity, but it seemed like everyone married a pureblood. When Ron says that they have a cousin who is an accountant but do not talk about him much seemes almost like they are ashamed of him.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the group along with the deatheaters destroyed all of the time turners on accident in the 5th book while in the Department of Mystries.

we only knew James when he was young. it's unfair to judge him how he was back then. he was just a cocky little kid. he obviously grew to be a great person or Lily wouldn't have loved him. and Snape was a coward. he was only "brave" because he wanted Lily. even JK Rowling said herself in an interview that Snape is not a hero. he only did the brave things for his own selfish reasons. if he was TRULY brave deep down in his heart, he never would have given in to the deatheaters and pureblood bull crap in the first place.

everyone married purebloods? Lily wasn't a pureblood.

Ron might be ashamed of the accountant because he doesn't understand muggle jobs. it's odd to him. people are often afraid of things they don't understand.

First, we've been told that the attack on the Dept. of Mysteries destroyed all the Time-Turners. Even if he could get one, what good would that do? We find out that by reconstructing his body with Harry's blood, Voldemort has tethered Harry to him and Harry cannot be killed while Voldemort lives (7th book King's Cross station chapter).

The sorting Hat sorts by what characteristic is strongest in a person. Remember the traits being looked for are Bravery, Ambition, Intelligence/Love of learning, Industriousness. Something like cruelty is not restricted to any one house. No one can say that Snape was not cruel, and as for James, remember kids can be very cruel to one another.

That is not true; Andromeda Black marries a Muggle-born, as does James Potter. Tonks is a Halfblood, and we don't know Lupin's status. Ginny marries a Halfblood and Ron marries a Muggle-born.

I'm not sure how much you can take from Ron's statement; he's 11 and maybe that cousin hasn't been mentioned--very possibly because that cousin might be a Squib. I don't think much can be made from that.

1. Timeturners were destroyed; besides, it wouldn't help him by going back in time to kill Harry while he couldn't do so in the present
2. Yes, even Dumbledore admitted that they sort too soon. Besides the hat takes your choice into consideration. Snape who was half-blood but desired to be included in the ranks of purebloods along with his ambition and lure for dark magic would have wanted to be in Slytherin. James was very brave too - haughty but brave. Gryffindor would've been his house of choice.
3. Ron isn't exactly the most tactful of the lot - he's known to make some immature statements. However, he comes from the family of biggest blood traitors ever - so his remark for his accountant cousin may not have much to do with blood status.

JKR has showed diversity quite well - not just in blood status but also by not caring at all about color and ethnicity. Harry's first date is an Indian girl and first girlfriend is Chinese. Kingsley who becomes Minister of Magic is black. Also, Ron's first girlfriend Lavender (though it has never been explicitly mentioned) is believed to be black.

1. Well Harry was protected by his mothers love, and he had that protection throughout his childhood, going back in time would not have changed anything - what he should have done is get someone else to kill Harry for him........

2. The sorting hat places you, where you want to be(harry asked it to place him in gryffindor remember), Dumbledore himself admitted that sorting is done at a too early stage, so yeah I guess the sorting hat is flawed.

3. Ron marries Hermione who is a muggle born. Harry himself is a half blood and ends up marrying Ginny - a pure blood. And the cousin who is an accountant might just be weird - we don't have enough info on him to know.

When Harry and his friends were at the MInistry they smashed all of the time-turners.Snape was all of the Slytherin's qualities. Slytherin's can be brave too.
