Good question, with an enclosed stadium, the heat certainly couldn't be a factor. I would guess that there is little to no interest in the sport, unlike other cities.

The city of Pheonix a population of 1.5 million with a metroploitan area population of 4 million.

Denver has a population of .5 million with a metropolitan area population of 2.4 million.

Pheonix is not as small as you think it is. they should be able to sell it out. It is not the size of the market, it is the fans in Pheonix.

the D'Backs fans are fickle. As soon as the team loses ticket sales go down. Also they are a basketball and loserville Cardinals football town. I lived there for 12 years and hated every minute of it, because they hate the Yankees and everything New York and because it is so bleepin HOT!

I don't think its because of a small market. I think its because baseball isn't as popular there as in other cities.
