Does anyone know of any sites online where I can find some decent, legit casting calls/auditions? The thing is, I do not want a site where I have to pay for a membership, I do I want any sites that are free but they make you pay to access certain features on the site, etc...they must be 100% free. And like I said, the sites must be legit.

If there are any sites that you know of that fit this description, I would really appreciate it if you'd post a link. Thanks a bunch.

You get what you pay for...

The most legit sites I know are industry standards but in the end are not completely free.

backstage.com - every actor worth anything knows this and at one time has either subscribed or gone to the book store every Thursday to sneak a look at the new auditions. Many now have them behind the counter. You can search online for free, however in order to see all the info you have to pay. For theatre auditions you may be able to see enough to get the rest of the info on your own (such as the theatre name so you can look up the theatre's website and get the audition info straight from them)

Actorsaccess.com - Free to set up an account and upload your resume and photo, also free to look at all the audition info you want BUT if you want to submit for an audition electronically it will cost you. The company that runs this site also runs Breakdown Services which is yet another industry standard. Every single legit agent uses this service to find auditions for their clients all day every day. The catch for the free version is that there are ads in the mix and you do not get the best listings. You get the watered down version, basically many roles are glorified extras etc. but some are not, some are student and indie films as well as theatre so it's definitely worth it for someone without an agent. If it has a lot of auditions in your area, consider getting a subscription for Showfax (yes, another industry standard service). Showfax is a sides service. If an audition has sides available (sides are script pages for the audition) then instead of driving all over town to get them, showfax will fax or email them to you. A year costs you $68 which is not bad if you use it a lot AND it also gets you a year of unlimited submissions on actorsaccess.

These people should pay me for all the people I've referred to them. In all honesty, I do not believe you are not going to find anything that's 100% free and 100% legit. Who out there has the motive to provide that to you? People are in business to make money. These companies are known in the business and have been for some time. I would be extremely wary of anything that was free unless I compare it to these other sites. Since they do give you access to some parts for free you have the ability to do that, so I would absolutely encourage you to do so with any other suggestions that people give you. Just be careful going on any auditions especially from sites like Craig's list (which I do NOT recommend). My probem with a free site like that is that anyone with no credentials can place an ad and have unsuspecting girls, women, boys, young men, etc. show up and do lord knows what. Please never go alone to any audition, let your instincts guide you, do not sign anything you do not understand (waivers, contracts, etc.) and just be careful in general.

good luck!

Even now I still see casting calls for movies on CraigsList. I remember seeing a casting call for a werewolf character on the lastest Twilight movie. If you want to get into acting, go to a good school for it. And, you can try joining the Screen Actors Guild and getting a good manager. That always helps. This is a good foot-in-the-door method. Nothing's free, it seems, but best of luck to you. .

Reading between the lines of your question, I would have to say that there are no such sites that can make you an instant actor. Only years of hard work can do that.
