Maybe the water level doesn't really fall, but because the anchor is heavy, once it's out of the boat, the boat is lighter and rises a bit. This would make it appear that the water level has fallen. Just a guess.

No.... you have an incorrect reference point. You are looking at it from ground level. Adjust your reference to your boat deck!

If you are sitting ON the boat and you have this TWO TON anchor, naturally, your boat will sink further into the water. Now you throw this TWO TON anchor off your boat. Now the boat is lighter. It naturally rise in reference to the water level. Thus, the water level falls.

yeah, but the anchor was in the boat so the boat was heavier and sat further down in the water, the anchor is small in comparison to the amount the boat will rise...

how it can be? the water level in ocen varies from place to place.. ships and boats doesn't displace large amount of water, when a ship/boat travels the displaced water didn't make a large effect because of the depth of the sea..the sea water level always came to equilibrium.. if you really want to decrease the sea water level, just try to make them freez

you are playing with the boat in your bathroom tub and anchor falls on the drain hole so the water was drained and that's why the water level comes down.......
