Why should there be children to be taught, why should there be the wise to teach. Equality does not mean an absence of leadership but opposition to wronging leadership. I wonder, perhaps political power and economic power are the same thing,

Is the following true, false or contingent: 'In the social production of their existence, men inevitably enter into definite relations, which are independent of their will, namely relations of production appropriate to a given stage in the development of their material forces of production. The totality of these relations of production constitutes the economic structure of society, the real foundation, on which arises a legal and political superstructure and to which correspond definite forms of social consciousness. The mode of production of material life conditions the general process of social, political and intellectual life. It is not the consciousness of men that determines their existence, but their social existence that determines their consciousness. At a certain stage of development, the material productive forces of society come into conflict with the existing relations of production or – this merely expresses the same thing in legal terms – with the property relations within the framework of which they have operated hitherto. From forms of development of the productive forces these relations turn into their fetters. Then begins an era of social revolution. The changes in the economic foundation lead sooner or later to the transformation of the whole immense superstructure. '

Ask your question to the anti-G8 (or go to the category politics)... Anyway...
the G8 is disapproved by Trade unionists from many different regions across Germany. Trade unionists took part in the protest movement against the G8 summit 2007 on March in Heiligendamm. These annual summits are a symbol for global neo-liberal capitalism domination like international holding companies. The G8 summits serve the purpose of global coordination between the divisions of wealth between the major global powerful nations and leaders. By this way, the more the world powers are stabilizing the global neo-liberal economic order, the less they are considering the negative impact - a worsening of standard of living for the majority of the population. In other words, an elitist/corrupted minority accumulates the wealth, which is produced by millions of people.
Furthermore, the G8 leads (controls) the globalization of capital and labor markets, which has put workers into global competition against each other without any scruples about labor conditions, wages and human dignity.
Unlike an "Overlapping Consensus" there is nowadays a Modus Vivendi. This consensus permits of an agreement between hostile States in the world within the G8 (or the G8 is driven by a Modus Vivendi). An "Overlapping Consensus" involves only the social system within a State.
The G8 is the hardest game for the United State of America President in order to prevent war.
Additional Details

"Overlapping Consensus": this consensus is going around that divergent moral and religious conceptions of the social goods could (despite their diversity) converge on some common ground; for instance, within multicultural societies different citizens would support justice as fairness for different reasons but on a common ground (the state or the constitution). So an "overlapping consensus" doesn't originate with wisdom or reason or common sense.
Why? Because:
"Although a deep consensus (from wisdom) might on justice as fairness might be impossible, an 'overlapping consensus'" Rawls argued, is possible." (See Rawls)

In the same sense that we are all equal politically under the Constitution, we are also equal economically. This is equality is very simply the equality to make as much money if you can, by means that are not stifled by unequal standards. A man making minimum wage can invent something that makes him a billionaire, as the college students did who created Google, for example. Or write a best seller, as Tom Clancy did when he was just an insurance agent. It is equal opportunity, not equal monetary assets we are talking about.

Because there are too many opinions and religions and suggestions all over the world. Too many people. Obviously too many people to have their voice heard so they find a leader. The leader has a leader and they have a leader and so on. So many voices are being heard and then thrust onto a representative of a majority of people.

Simply, it keeps things more equal on this most rational basis possible.

Following your premise, there would still be leaders. We are part of the primate family. A leader is instinctly chosen. It is in our genes. Perhaps a day will come, when we will rise above.

Ahhh... 'If...

Things have been tampered with that they should not equate; the equation, dynamic not static; the two, naturally inexorably tied.

On leaders, they are who tamper where not proportioned by ratio to number.

Nature is one thing; and Man, another.
