Does Rawling have the right to sue, or have her and her publisher went to far?

No. She does not have the right to sue. Her word description of that fictitious castle is exactly that. Merely a word description. Some film makers may have created a real structure based on that word description. But, she is not the "creator" of the castle replica being built in India.

Yes, she has the right to sue. If they were building a replica of the Disney Castle, or even Yankees Stadium, they are recreating an structure protected by copyright.
