eelfins: Ahmadenijad has no real power in Iran. He is the equivalent of Nancy Pelosi in the U.S.
He answers to the Ayatollahs in Iran.
The Ayatollahs have the power!
AND the U.S. government knows that!

Orwell said that a covertly corrupt government would always have to create an outside enemy to distract it's people from the dangers coming from within.

Can't happen. While there are more Christian persons in the world than Muslims, there are more Muslim Countries than Christian. Luckily for the Christians, their countries have the most guns. However, get enough banana republics together and there could be serious trade problems.

The only real success we have had with this sort of thing was invading Saudi Arabia and setting up that United Arab Emirates spot... you know, the Muslim country with the super rich citizens, mega malls, and islands shaped like trees and world maps?

I hear the GOP loves vacationing there, though.

At least 7 more. We should use nuclear bombs instead, it will prevent troop losses in the future.

EDIT***

Ahmadenijad is like Nancy Pelosi? So you are saying he has huge breasts, is Catholic, supports abortion, thinks it is ok for 18 year olds to drink booze, and represents a gay pride / drug induced hippie culture (not to mention being a Raiders / 49ers fan)?

Dude, I don't think so ... he IS just as annoying though.

It's never enough, we have to invade everyone so that Halliburton can meet it's quarterly earnings report and so Dick Cheney can move that much closer to the final solution which involves the imprisonment and execution of anyone who disagrees with the Bush administration.

Is that what you wanted to hear?

Anyone who thinks Ahmadinejad is not a threat, even though he specifically stated he wants to kill all of the Jews in Israel even if half his own country is wiped out in the process, has their eyes closed to the dangers of the real world. It's too bad that it sometimes takes an atrocity beyond imagination to get them to see things realistically.

Edit -- I know that the Mullahs have the real power in Iran, it was them who sent Ahmadinejad on his envoy mission to the U.S. recently. But at the same time you don't think he just echoes their sentiments? That's his job.

I think they want Pakistan and Iran. That would likely make them all very happy.

Many Americans want to see Islam is eradicated from this world.

If it wasn't for the cost of it and lack of manpower, I'm sure we would be in a dozen other countries right now if it were up to many on the extreme-right.

Define safe. As safe as we were on September 10th, 2001?
