Do anyone else think "black" culture is bring down our youth?

If not can you tell me why you think its OK to be uneducated, wear that hilarious clothing, and stand on the street corners all day instead of getting a job and then living off the government. because that is what black people do and there are exceptions but that all I see.

I said black culture not black people i meant hip hop, rap and the gangster way of life american pop culture that has so greatly influenced the entire youth of this country.

I think that it is ignorance and intolerance that is bringing down our youth. Case in point, someone who probably doesn't have the guts to have a healthy dialog with people of other cultures will post a question that shows that they are uninformed. These people typically lack the common sense necessary to form a logical line of thinking. They will typically fail in life because they are unable to form rational thoughts that are based on facts. Additionally, seeking an outlet for their hidden aggression, they choose to hide behind a "mask" to avoid detection. The result is that they seldom get the psychiatric attention that they truly need.

We should try to help these sad, ignorant, self-absorbed individuals because if they are allowed to harbor these types of feelings, they will progress to the point where they do not feel responsible for their own actions and they will go through life trying to find a scapegoat for all of their failures.

It certainly is. The way some of my friends spell on Facebook is just downright appalling. Vowels are not a necessity anymore, apparently consonants are enough of the word to make it recognisable (eg. thnks - thanks, nvmnd - never mind). Everything that can be shortened to one letter is (u - you, r - are)Also it now seems that you're and your along with their, there and they're are interchangeable. Punctuation such as apostrophes, commas and full stops are a thing of the past. And nobody needs capitalise for the beginning of a sentence anymore. A lot of people just say, 'oh well, it's only Facebook' but this is not the case. This text-speak is creeping into everyday life and our schools. Honestly, I've watched my friend typing her assignment and literally have to backspace every five seconds because her fingers are too used to the text-speak spellings. It takes her much longer than it should to write up an essay. Then there are some kids who hand their assignments in, full of text-speak and do not even realise they are incorrect. Did you know that some schools have begun allowing and accepting text-speak during exams? I think that's ludicrous, but they have argued that it is simply a faster shorthand version of English and we teens are advancing the English language. Personally, I think it's just illiterate.

You can go on about all the other races but i'll say this -- most black folks lives are still a ** reaction ** to slavery, jim crow, disenfranchisement. You don't cure several hundreds of years of being sh-- upon in a few decades.

As a black man i hate to admit it but many of us aint figgered out where we belong since white america started telling us again and again that it had no use for us except as the maid, the butler, the lackey, the scaredy c--n, or playing one of these roles or a criminal in a movie.

Yup, i said figgered. (that's for you all on your soapboxes, white and black. come on down complaining and get an a-- whuppin)

First of all, don't you think uneducated people shouldn't be writing questions in yahoo answers??? you don't even know how to write.... your the uneducated one.

Second of all, as soon as i saw this Q i knew you were one of those people that just loves starting issues in a nice, peaceful environment. This place is produced to be fun and informational, not degrading and racist.

do some travelling then, or just try asking them what they do for a living , or maybe that would be offensive ...but if you followed one's tracks you may see them go to work if they have been invited into the work place any where , their are various prejudices that cause certain people's unemployment
