Here we go!
If you are traveling internationally here are some things to think about and take along.
Passport with appropriate visas.
Immunization book. List of Shots etc.
Tickets
of course you are going to want to have your camera and most people carry personal music these days.
Pack light. one or two sets of casual, beach and dress. Remember, most places you go there are going to be great deals on clothing. You will need room for your new things.

This is important. Inform your Credit card companies that you are going to be traveling and where you are going to be. If they suddenly see charges coming from Paris or Bangkok they are going to freeze your accounts and you are stuck trying to unravel all this stuff on long distance. They are just trying to help but it can be a real bad situation.
Lonely Planet has guides to just about everywhere with handy descriptions of sights. They also have maps of most towns and cities. The books also highlight dangers, scams and things to watch out for in specific locations. They generally have phone numbers for airlines, trains and busses in various cities and of course they list hotels and restaurants and give prices. Make sure to get a real book not a copy. The maps in the copies are hard to read. Also be aware that most prices are dated. Like everywhere else things are more expensive these days.
Be security conscious. ATM's work most places in the world now so you don't have to take a lot of money with you. I would also suggest that you leave your computer at home. There are internet cafes everywhere and they are very cheap. Use them. Its better than worrying about your brick being ripped off and having to lug it around.
Last but not least.. Don't sweat the small stuff. You are on vacation. The hotels know how to take a lot of the worry out of your bookings and sight seeing tours. Let them handle it. It may cost a little more but its worth it.
If you will email me and let me know where you are going I would be happy to give you more specific information and tips and tricks to use to bypass customs and immigration roadblocks.

Most important!!! HAVE FUN!

Hey!

I live in spain...well canary islands but its the same really....so maybe i can help.

It deffinatly wont be cold so forget any warm clothes!
Sun block is a must and sun glasses too if you have sensitive eyes.

A basic knowledge of the language would be good but dont worry if not because if your going to a tourist area most people speak english!

You wont need any visa to get into spain its not like america.

Try and pick up some leaflets from your hotel about excursions if its your first time that way you get to see the really good stuff and you might learn alot too!

Some spanish words to help :

Please Por Favor
Thank you Gracias
Good morning/evening/ Buenos Dias/Noche
where to? (might be asked by a taxi driver) A Donde?
Where are the toilets? Donde esta los servicios?
Where is the beach? Donde esta la playa?

My personal favorite.----

Do you speak english? Habla Ingles?

Depends where you're going in Spain. I live in Malaga, South of Spain and the weather is great, you can go to the beach through the day, so pack your swimwear, the evenings are getting cooler 16 degrees, so a light sweater may be useful. Flat, comfortable shoes if you're going on excursions, sun block, camera, sun glasses and Euros. Have a great holiday.

In different words, we do it for the lulz. and that i became constantly aggravated I ignored the "night of 1000 Jokers) however the genuine international ****** me over... yet I do keep in mind (or a million/2 keep in mind in different circumstances) multiple different exploits and the nights of magnitude the place lots exhilaration became made, be it by making one yet another snigger at our very own doings, or at another destructive mortal's price. yet to me many of the terrific human beings I even have met interior the international I met right here (you being one) and to me that's basically as significant, if not extra, than any reviews i've got had right here.
