Every girl need female companionship, as do men need male companionship. It helps to relieve the tension that sometimes builds up in marriage. If you are talking to a woman, she just understands how you feel better than a man does, and vice versa.

Simply put... NO. It would be a nice world if it was okay but, sorry, it's not. Men and women can not have platonic friendships. Not for long anyway. I'll bet your wife would say "no".

I'd have to agree with EllenL.
I never would have before my husband began an affair with one of his "friends". They say "it just happened" and that they didn't expect it. Well, if they weren't together it wouldn't have "just happened" now would it?
