This thought crossed my mind several months ago. Do you always return missing items you know are lost? Or do you keep them if you know no one will find out you have it? Do you keep merchandise sent to someone else but it ends up at your door? I tend to subscribe that people are as honest as they have to be. Your thoughts on this.

not really as they "have" to be but as they want to be. I wouldn't bother driving out miles to return a lost wallet, for example, but would certainly return it if the owner was standing in front of me. it's part convenience part moral standards. the higher your moral standards obviously the lower the convenience level needs to be.

I don't know about other people, but I think I am a very honest person. I all ways try to return things that I find or appear at my door...or end up in my mail box. I have gone as far as drive to the persons door to take something to them that I have gotten by mistake. I all ways try to be honest..and would want others to be honest with me. I hate liars! Honesty is the best policy!!

I only return missing things when I have nothing to do but when I'm busy I leave it but I don't take it. People are not purely honest as they say. Sometimes you really have to lie to survive some situations.

yeah honesty is always good. I do my best to return missing items but sometimes it's too far out of the way or sometimes I jsut forget.

I disagree. I am as honest as I can be and have as a goal to be more honest. To be dishonest is a negation of myself. Every time a person lies they are a little (or a lot) ashamed of themselves.

Those of us who know ourselves, know that it is important to be honest to others and to ourselves for our self esteem and for others to become their best selves.

If you really are a Ph.D psychologist you should know this. If you are and you don't; you went to a bad school. Many people I know are very honest.

I am really honest. I have a heavy conscience. I feel bad about talking to other men, and I have been single for months. Shoot, he left me for a girl he knocked up behind my back. LoL.... No, that's not funny, until I started calling her Moomoo.
