i think of my brother and budweiser.

you see my brother's nickname is Bud, because back in the day apperantly my mom's best friend liked budweiser...he liked it so much he started calling my brother bud.

catchy little jingle because he is still called bud after 20 years even though his real first name is don

We use it as an abbreviation for the word 'buddy' as in mate, pal etc

The beer comes to mind secondly, but I don't even know if it is available over here.
If it is, it has a pretty low profile.
