I know why I give negative points to certain answers.

Appalling spelling or grammar or incoherent writing.

( I dont just mean one or two spelling or typing errors
I mean seriously bad mangled prose! )

Going off topic.

Posting some remark or saying you agree with the poster just to get points.

Using your answer as an excuse to tell some one to change to another religion.

What other reasons do you have to give negative points to an answer?

Sometimes the answer is just plain wrong.
If I know something is wrong, I give it a 'thumbs down'. Because I'm on Level 6, it makes the answer disappear. Such power do I wield!
