I'm asking because I am a blonde and am very upset about what people say about blondes being dumb.

Of course blondes are not dumb. Are you dumb? You know if you are or not. I doubt that you are. They are just jokes. My daughter use to get upset over them too but now she just laughs it off. People make jokes about all kinds of improper things. I don't think they mean any harm, they do cause people to get upset, they just don't think about the feelings people may experience. They are just having fun. Be who you are. Love who you are, and those who love you will know exactly what you are. Others don't matter. People judge all too often. Keep smiling.

Blondes are beautiful, but dumb? No, I don't think so, this derogatory remark were made because way back in the early 1900s women were not given higher education by their parents but are set up for marriage to well to do bachelors. The more beautiful the woman the better the catch. Blondes were the best choices of well to do men, again because they consider blondes the most beautiful, as the trend goes. But when they were brought by their husband to functions they cannot provide any intelligent remark whenever they were spoken to.
There's are a lot of dumb people who are not blonde. There is also a saying in other countries, like beautiful but dumb, or pretty face with empty head.
I've known a lot of blondes who are intelligent and very successful in their careers.
So don't get upset, deep in your heart you know the truth, they are just envious, plain and simple...

Certainly not! There are plenty smart blondes out there. Ignore the stereotype, and ignore what people say.
That stigma exists only because of a few remarkably dumb ones. Marilyn Monroe helped to start this, Jenny McCarthy, Anna Nicole Smith, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Hugh Hefner's bimbos on The Girls Next Door, etc., but then it seems like most of the blondes associated with the entertainment industry have the collective IQs of a dust mite. This is the reason blondes are incorrectly associated with stupidity. So blame the entertainment industry.

This is just a vicious rumour started by Brunettes. Did You know that European Women have been dying their hair Blonde since Roman times? So who is jealous of whom, and why? The only 'dumb' blondes are the ones who take 'dumb blonde' jokes seriously. Now where does that leave You? I take it that You are too smart to care about being stereotyped?
PS: Ever typed the word 'Blonde' in and then tried 'Check Spell'? Try it. See what happens. Now They are really dumb!

I know quite a few blondes and most of them are smart. However, there are exceptions to every rule. This does not mean I think any blonde is dumb, but according to the law of averages, SOME are, as are some of all different hair colors.

My wife is a dirty blond, and let me tell you she is one of the smartest people that I know.
I think if your a natural blond you get this feeling that you need to be dumb, that is not the case. Dont let people judge you for something you are not. The world is a very tough place. We just have to live with it. I'm From the Islands married to a blond, how do you think I feel?

Natural blondes R not naturally dumb. Handicaps them having the "entitlement issue" making them eventually insecure. A good friend who for years gave the impression she was a natural blonde . She also had the same concern as yourself. The dumb part she is a brunette, She constantly ranted again of people's impression of her personae of dizzy blonde.
"Step away from the clairol"
though offensive at first. She is now grateful. She has more confidence in HERSELF and not her blonde, total change in her demeanor and receives a different respect from others. Being blond brought with the baggage of the "entitlement issue" and the misconception of being dumb. Though "Dizzy" is fitting.
She is wonderful person. that's what count.

No i really don't think that because there are many blondes that are out there that are really really smart. People just say that because most blondes are pretty and supposedly you cant get pretty and smart at the same time. which is so not true. Lots of blondes are in top schools also if some one says that they are most of the times the dumb ones so those people can stick that in their juice box and suck it!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Maybe some of the fake blonds are but not the natural ones. I have a teenage daughter who's a natural blond and she loves literature and music. That doesn't sound like a dumb blond to me.

Absolutely not. I know a lot of blondes in high places in blondes are so dumb why do all the women dye their hair blonde in the summertime.
